2026 Water Year Outlook

Planning for dry conditions ahead

Moderate to exceptional drought conditions persist across the state with the Yampa River Basin experiencing severe to extreme drought intensity. The basin is currently at 64% of median snow water equivalent (SWE) and the projections below shows dwindling hope for reaching median peak SWE this year.
